A little bit about me!

I’ve worked in education since 2000, on both sides of the fence! I worked on the admin side as Data Manager before crossing over to teaching. Starting as an English teacher, then KS3 Lead and whole school Literacy Manager. I am currently Head of English at a successful Independent School in Essex. Trying to make it a school that reads!

I write about teaching, classroom problems, English units taught and anything else I think will be helpful. I’ve written blogs for TES and Teach Secondary, as well as presenting at teaching conferences such as researchEd and TLT.

Oh and I’m a huge Prince fan, all my blogs are a dedication, a sort of homage to his music which influenced me throughout my life and will no doubt continue to affect me in one way or another.

I’m a teacher in secondary education, always learning and never quite on top of it all.
